Grand Monastery Complex is located in Pamporovo, the largest resort in the Rhodope Mountains, located 220 km from Sofia and 80 km from Plovdiv. Despite its altitude of 1650 m, the climate is mild with a strong Mediterranean influence and the most sunny days of the year. The average annual temperature is 8.5 C, and the thickness of the snow cover in winter reaches 150 cm.

Grand Monastery is located in the Studenets ski center, just 150 m from the main ski lift to Snezhanka peak. The complex consists of 5 amphitheatrically arranged buildings, connected by a warm connection and an escalator.

At its top there is a direct exit to the ski slope leading to the central lift station of the Studenets center.

Top of the Mountain private apartments for guests in the Grand Monastery complex are located in different buildings.

The movement between the buildings in both directions is by stairs and an escalator.

Please note that Grand Monastery does not have facilities for guests with mobility problems or people with disabilities.

The complex has a tavern, lobby bar, bowling alley, billiards, electronic games corner, children’s corner, ski storage, cafe and mini market.

The complex has an APRES SKI&SWIM relaxation center, offering a variety of massages, a sauna, a fitness center and a 22m/8m pool. The water temperature is between 27-28° and is suitable for swimming.

Parking is free (reservation is not possible) subject to availability. During busy periods, another paid parking lot on Studenets -100m is also used.

The mountain resort of Pamporovo is located at the foot of Mount Snezhanka (1926 m.) in the foothills of the Rhodope Balkans at 1650 m. above sea level. It is located about 230 km. southeast of Sofia, 85 km. south of Plovdiv, 15 km. from Smolyan and 10 km. from Chepelare. The idea for the creation of Pamporovo was Nikola Chichovski from the town of Chepelare in the distant 1933. It began its existence as a resort with several boarding houses, today Pamporovo offers ideal conditions for sports and tourism – skiing, snowboarding, Fun Park, snowmobile entertainment, etc. in winter and Velopark and hiking in summer.

Almost all ski slopes in the resort start from Mount Snezhanka, with their altitude varying from 1926 to 1400 meters. Pamporovo Ski Area includes about 60 km of ski, snowboard, sledding and freeride slopes, as well as cross-country skiing trails.

In the summer, Pamporovo offers many interesting hiking and cycling routes.

Pamporovo Bike Park is one of the fastest growing and well-developed mountain bike parks in Bulgaria and offers 15 separate trails with a total length of over 35 kilometers, suitable for all ages and abilities.
